Questionnaire results

These are my results from distributing my questionnaire to 70 students from my school. I have put them together in pie charts to make it easy to read and understand.

First Questionnaire

Before creating my magazine I created this questionnaire and handed it out to 70 students in my school. I gave 10 people from year 7 to Year 13 a questionnaire, 5 from each year were female and the other 5 were male.

Music Magazine Pitch

Music magazine pitch

Our next task is to create our own music magazine. To start this task off we had to make our own pitch that will include typical music magazine conventions. After researching music magazines to find out more about their front covers, contents pages and feature articles as well as the information i have gathered on the typical features included in music magazines today and stereotypical conventions of a music magazine i have decided on the way i want to create my magazine.

I've decided i want my front cover to include a high quality image with subtitles included on the bottom of the page. I will continue these conventions through to my contents page as well as my feature article. I will use Adobe Photoshop to create and edit my magazine to maintain a high quality piece of work.

The genre of music i have decided to aim this magazine at is Pop/Indie/Rock. My primary target audience will be young males and females aged between 14-20 and my secondary target audience will be older males and females aged 20+

Preliminary Task: School Magazine

Our first task was to create a school magazine. I chose Ashleigh as my model and we went around our school taking pictures of mainly classes and the building itself. Because of the Heworth logo being blue and yellow I chose to have this as my colour scheme to represent the school. Once I chose my image I enlarged it to fit the page as this is a main convention of a magazine. I made the masthead large so it stands out on the page to catch the audience’s attention. I included headlines to give the reader an insight of what articles are included in a magazine.

For the contents page I kept the font the same font and colour scheme as on the cover to give my magazine a house style. I made the layout quite simple for the younger year groups who could read the magazine and so the page wasn't cluttered i chose to use only one image and made sure it was relevant to the magazine.
